Primary Bath thoughts

We love the zellige, and if the budget were unlimited we would probably do the all-over look with the herringbone in a darker color. However, we are thinking about the price.

OPTION 1.

Do the white zellige on the shower walls and between sink and vanity, find something dark and cheaper for main area floor.

OPTION 1A:

Just walls in white zellige and do the shower floor in a smaller version of main floor tile or similar. Such as:

Black 1x1 Square on floor

or 2x2 as here

Or white penny round, dark grout as in these 2 above (not main floor just shower floor but you can see them together here)

Something like that on the floor? Pretty simple, but maybe with more interest.

OPTION 3:

A similar shape subway tile, stacked vertically, that is less expensive than zellige. Would lose the beautiful texture and luster but keep that graphic look. Same idea for floor: something small/dark for shower floor, larger but similar for main floor. Maybe something more graphic since losing the zellige?

Non-zellige wall tiles:

Here is a 3x12 zellige look glossy ceramic that is less than half the price. We would still stack them vertically. I think in that case we would do Just the shower walls, not floor.

Bedrosians - Cloe 2.5x8 glossy ceramic - $7.99/SF

Here are some applications:

Here is a matte version, which I rather like, and also they come in subway, some colors in 1x12 or square, and penny and hex so we could match the floor if we wanted:

Bedrosian - Makoto 2.5 x 10 Matte Ceramic. $8.29/SF

Riad tile also has affordable ceramic solid tile:

Kids' Bathroom Ideas

I like the tiles very much, the color and the grout color and the pattern. I want to tile in the tub like this.

Not the circular mirror or the handles, but the cleanness of the vanity and the tile combo (plus skylight). Wouldn't mind these sconces or something a little more fun

I like the tile combo and the ledge. Not the sink.

Another view of same.

Like the vanity very much, and the tile combo in unexpected patterns, and making a ledge from the tile.

Not this moody, but I like the different zones created from tile. I like the vanity (but probably chrome hardware)

I like the vanity and the mix of tiles and the tiled-in tub. Kind of like the line around the top of the backsplash. Also the arched shower enclave. Not the marble though. A little more traditional than I'd like overall.

Not the vessel sink, but I like how clean and graphic this is. Yes to the light fixture. Again, creating that zone with the tile all the way up from floor to just above sink

Again, clean and cheerful. I like the tile combo.

Not exactly this tile, but I like the vanity and that it is graphic with some different zones

You're Invited to a Banquette!!

 Some examples for discussion:

1.  Love the design, but not very comfortable looking.

2. Yes! But shorter.

3. Not really.

4. Lovely.  Really like it, but it's a very different layout than ours.

5. YES YES YES.  Not the chairs, but the Banquette tucked into the gap.  That said, we will have the opposite situation with the center projecting and the Sides flush with the back of the banquette seat.

6. What's not to like?  A lot longer than our space though.

7. Too different from our situation.  But I like the wood seat.  Uncomfortable?

8. Very different space, but I love the leather and wood combo.

9. Again with the leather and wood.  I really like it.

9. Criminy! Would it kill someone to have built a banquette in a kitchen shaped like ours. Love the bench here.

10. Not so much. But groovy 50's vibe.

11. I like the location (except that anything that spills or falls off the food prep counter is going down the crack between seat and seatback.

12. I like this one.

What do you think?
